GLEN Alfred Mylne
Overview “Glendhu” is an extended Glen Class Racer Cruiser built in 1950 in Northern Ireland.
She was runner up in the 2018 Classic Boat Awards, restoration under 40’.
She has been extensively restored during winters 2015, 16 & 17 plus a new Beta Diesel engine in 2019.
Her restoration work was done by Tim Loftus (of Underfall Yard, now Johnson and Loftus, Ullapool), Will Stirling of Stirling &Son, ( Plymouth ) and latterly Mylor Yacht Harbour.
“Glendhu’s” Hull is triple diagonal sheathed with Utile and West System for strength and a fair finish.
At great expense and Included in these works were:-
New decks, New coach roof and New cockpit hatch
New standing rigging
New Beta Diesel engine
Her sails are in good order, she has a feathering prop and a newly varnished tiller. In my ownership she has had plenty of work to create a mini-fife out of an Alfred Mylne genius…
