Orkney Boats For Sale UK
In 1973 Orkney brought out their first – and most successful – model, the Longliner 16, the design of which was based on the traditional fishing boats used in the Orkney Isles. Subsequent variants were manufactured for 40 years, and many of those produced are still in use today. The Fastliner 16 was created in 1980 as a quicker variant, with a bigger range.
In 1974 Orkney launched the Dory 424, which was both sportier and faster than the Longliner. Also that year they displayed their range at the Southampton Boat Show for the first time, an appointment they have continued annually ever since.

The Spinner, which came to market in 1975, has been used as both a fishing vessel and as a commercial boat. A sailing version, known as the Skua, was introduced later. The 1983 Angler is the smallest boat in Orkney’s collection and is also used on the lakes in London’s Royal Parks.
1984 models include the Fastliner 19 and the Strikeliner 16+, both notable for their use of wheel steering. Between 1988 and the present day, Orkney has built over 13,000 boats, including the Pilothouse, Series II, Vanguard, Orkadian & Day Angler rangers.
